Every day I am going somewhere
asking someone to show me the way
everywhere I look I see people
empty vessels that have lost their way
Crowded streets with a reek of madness
grey coloured sadness rain don't wash away
drunken memories lie in the gutter
with brown paper bags & the junk from the night
Faded dreams dressed in frocks of velvet
with painted faces in short decay
leather mothers of future children
are beaten senseless by the light of day
Why... why does there have to be all this insanity
& why do I feel that it is following me?
Some will die in the breath of me singing
some will kill on their way to the top
I know that there is justice somewhere
& it asks someone to show it the way...
